APCOM 2019: Mining Goes Digital

On the initiative of Dr. Christoph Mueller, owner of MineTronics, this oldest and most well-known conference for IT related topics in the mining industry is hosted in Eastern Europe for the first time ever.

The 39th Application of Computers and Operations Research in the Mineral Industry (APCOM) is organized by Minetronics, Wroclaw University of Technology, Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, Mining and Geology and Polish Academy of Science – Mining Commit-tee and KGHM Cuprum. Since the first symposium in early 1960’s, APCOM has been instrumental in fostering relationships between academic researchers and industry practitioners in the development of the latest computer based mathematical techniques in the mining industry.

The 2019 APCOM in Wroclaw will continue this tradition by focusing on all emerging digital technologies in mining. A special regional focus is put on IT-supported low impact mining of small deposits in Lower Silesia and adjacent regions in Germany and Czechia.

APCOM 2019 will host up to 120 high quality and peer-reviewed papers by international presenters from science and industry accompanied by a small exhibition. Up to 500 registered participants are expected to come to Wroclaw.
