Wroclaw is an ideal place for conventions and conferences. This is already widely known as many conferences and conventions – especially in the medical sciences – are regularly performed in Wroclaw. Therefore the town provides excellent accessibility and facilities:
Travel to Wroclaw is possible preferably by air to the newly built terminal of Nicolaus Copernicus Airport right outside the city, which is served by major European airlines like Polish LOT, Lufthansa or SAS and a number of low-cost carriers. For the APCOM 2018, Lufthansa already committed to offer special fare discounts for attendants.
For accommodation, the city offers a hotel capacity of almost 10 000 rooms.
A number of downtown hotels will be contracted for the conference for special rates.
Public transportation in the city is available through a tight network of trams and buses. For the APCOM conference, the availability of a bus shuttle service to and from hotels to the conference venue will be evaluated for convenient transportation.
As a conference venue, the Congress Centre at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology was chosen. The Congress Centre is located on the main campus of the University, in the vicinity of Grunwaldzki Square – one of the city’s major transport nodes and an important commercial site. It has direct, easily accessible connections with the historic city centre, main railway/bus stations, and numerous hotels. Congress Hall with an area of over 700 square metres (620 seats) – one of the largest halls of its kind in Wrocław and the region.
Many places in the city are available for dinner events or social functions during the conference ranging from the historic University building to hotels, historic castles and city centre breweries. Also, events on boats on the Odra River are possible.
